KRAABE steals the show.

The brand takes its name from the raven (German: Kolkrabe), Europe’s biggest member of the crow family. Ravens are amongst the most intelligent animals on earth: they are ingenious, playful and elegant. Inspired by this fascinating bird, KRAABE has taken it upon itself to re-think, re-interpret and re-design everyday objects.

Consequently, its products are both simple and stylish, intelligently designed and easy to handle. For example, the KRAABE wooden high chair, which can not only be folded flat but also cuts a sharp figure with its aesthetic design.

Thank you for flying with us and leaving the more conventional airspace together with KRAABE.

FAQ about the high chair

Operation, benefits, material, sustainability: KRAABE repeatedly has to answer the following questions about its high chair. If you have any other questions concerning our products, just contact us.

Yes, KRAABE high chairs are folding chairs. They can be unfolded, folded flat and tucked away behind any door, in a cupboard or under a bed in a matter of seconds. Just like any other folding product (pram, travel cot), their operation calls for a certain dexterity. This is why it is important that customers read the enclosed instructions for use before setting the chair up. Scanning the QR code that can be found on the chair’s backrest opens a video explaining how to use the chair.

No. However, the seat height has been chosen so that it is suitable for both infants and older children. The generally slightly lower sitting position for infants mans that the chair can be positioned beneath table-tops of a normal height, despite the safety rail. This means that children learn to eat directly from a table as of an early age.

No, the chair is suitable for infants (0–36 months) and older children (from 3 to around 7 years-old), until they can sit on a “normal” chair. And you don’t need any tools to convert the high chair into a child’s chair. The safety rail can be removed and refitted in a matter of seconds. Children of different ages can thus sit on the chair. Since the high chair grows with the child, it can be used for much longer, unlike a number of other similar products. If nothing else, this justifies its slightly higher price compared to other manufacturers’ chairs.

Yes. The children’s chairs from KRAABE are made of wood, birch plywood to be precise. They are manufactured in Thun (CH) with the utmost care. The wood is certified according to FSC Standard 40-004 v3.1 and meets the highest standard in the product chain. HERE you can find more information

You can only find the folding high chair in KRAABE’s online shop. In addition, all of the accessories, such as the specially developed gastro-trolley and the wall holder, are only available through the KRAABE website.

KRAABE’s customers come from all walks of life. They include, amongst others, a large number of restaurants and hotels from throughout Switzerland. You can find corresponding test reports and experiences in the blog. Furthermore, you will find the chair in an increasing number of private homes. And because it is a space-saving child’s chair “to go”, it is also ideal when out and about. Such as at outdoor events and on camping trips, as well as other activities where a folding high chair is useful.

Whether light or dark, black, red, blue, orange, purple, green or pink: the cushion set can be used to give the high chair a dash of colour. What’s more, the soft, colourful cushions also stop children from slipping, making the seat even more comfortable. The cushions are made from cellular rubber. Each set comes with a sticker for the backrest and seat.

The coated plywood surfaces and oiled edges can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth. You don’t need any cleaner. What is important is that any leftover food, particularly liquid food, be removed immediately so that it does not dry out on the surface. KRABBE recommends a special oil to care for the high chair, which is available from the online shop.

The high chair has passed the tests in accordance with the DIN EN 14988:2017 and 17191:2019 standards. The oil used to treat the edges meets the stipulations of both EN 71 Part 3, and thus the strict requirements with regard to the “safety of children’s toys”, and DIN 53160 for “resistance to sweat and saliva.”

Yes, the high chair has been thoroughly tested by DEKRA, you can view the documents here:

Just like any other chair, the KRAABE high chair can also topple over if used incorrectly. This is why small children should never be left on their own, allowing you to intervene in good time should there be any risk of the chair toppling over.

The children’s chair is made by people with disabilities, the SILEA Foundation in the Bernese Oberland. You can find out more about the foundation HERE
